Happy Wednesday!
One week left until summer break! We have so many events until we get to the last day with end of year parties. We have showcases this week and fifth grade exhibition next Tuesday. We hope to see you there celebrating all your student’s hard work.
Boosterthon Fun Run was a blast on Tuesday for our students! With your support, we met our goal of $35,000! Students have earned the movie day on May 22 and they get to silly string their teachers next week as well! We will wrap up donations at the end of the week - so you can still donate to benefit our outdoor spaces. Thank you for all your efforts to make this so successful!
Be sure to ask your child about Switch Day. All students got to move up to the next grade today to learn a little more about what to expect next year!
Don’t forget! - Next Wednesday is a full day of school and there will be no Triple A next Thursday. We are also giving students a free dress on the last day of school, next Thursday!

No Triple A or After School on the last day of school
Triple A and After School 6–12 does not operate on the last day of each semester; therefore there will be no Triple A or After School 6–12 Thursday, May 23. Waiters will operate as usual. All students must be picked up in the carline. Please communicate pick up arrangements with your students and if you use Pikmykid update your pick up mode.
Reminder: Next Wednesday, May 22 is a full day of school.
Please Clear Obligations: Lunch balances/Library books
Please have your student return any overdue books to the library and log into your students’ MySchoolBucks account and pay any outstanding lunch balances before the end of May. Lunch balances carry over from year to year and can prevent a student from participating in extracurricular activities.
Any extra funds in your child's school lunch account automatically roll over to the next school year. If you have any questions, please contact Kaylee Torres.
Yearbooks have arrived!
Secondary yearbooks will be distributed during advisory tomorrow Thursday, May 16. Students will be given their order ticket to present when picking up their book. Students may not pick up books for siblings. Students may also get their book during lunch on Friday, May 17.
Primary yearbooks will be distributed to classrooms next week Tuesday, May 21. The books will be sent home with each primary student that purchased a yearbook, so please make sure that the yearbook is accounted for that day.
24-25 Volunteer Interest Survey
We expect all of our parents and guardians to volunteer at least 20 hours during the school year. We want to know where your interests and availability lie to better target our volunteer opportunities. Please complete this 2-minute survey to help us understand how you would like to be involved in our community during the 24-25 school year.
This week: Ridwell plastic film recycling drive
We’ve already collected two trunks full of plastic bags – thank you! Haven’t dropped off your bags, yet? There’s still time to join our Ridwell recycling drive! This is what can be recycled.
- May 13-16: Drop them off in one of our labeled bins in each school lobby!
- Through May 31: If 10 people sign up for Ridwell services through this link, the school will receive free plastic film recycling all next year!
Expanded Meridian Orchard: Thank you
Pranav A. finished his Eagle Scout project by expanding the orchard with additional fig trees and irrigation. The original orchard was planted in 2018 by Ryan Trefny as an Eagle Scout project.
Early Voting for Primary Runoff Elections is May 20-24
For those planning to vote in primary runoff elections, early voting starts next week. Election Day is Tuesday, May 28. See details here.
5th Grade Families: Band Instrument Trial Day
There will be a showcase and trial time next week on May 22 for rising 6th grade students who have signed up for band next year. Please visit Mr. Garvey anytime after school until 6:30 p.m. in the Mays Music Room m1.40. The showcase will help students decide on which instrument they would like to play. Mr. Garvey will also be there to assist them.
Read on for detailed information about the different instrument families. This information will help your student get an idea of what interests them before they show up, if they don't already have an idea of what they want to play.
All students in band should fill out the Google Form that is attached as it will help us get a headstart on having instruments assigned.

Kindergarten: Animal Showcase - Friday, May 17 from 11:30 a.m. – noon (RSVP to attend)
4th Grade: Passion Project - Friday, May 17 from 2 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. (RSVP to attend)
5th Grade: Exhibition - Tuesday, May 21 from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. (RSVP to attend)
End of Year Parties
Room parents have sent sign ups for volunteers and items needed for the parties. Please check your email to sign up to help with your student’s end of year party. To help ensure a smooth check-in process for the parties, we are asking parents who will attend to RSVP by the end of the day Tuesday, May 21. As a reminder, students may not attend the party of a sibling. If you will attend multiple parties, please wait until the last sibling’s party to check all your students out from the office.

STAAR results 3-5 this summer
Families will be able to retrieve 2024 STAAR results for their student(s) this summer. You will be able to access results using your Skyward account. STAAR 3-5 scores (reading 3-5, math 3-5, and science 5) will be posted on TexasAssessment.gov website on June 14.
How to get my student’s results:
- Log into Skyward
- To access the scores from Skyward: Click on the Texas Assessment tile in your student’s profile.
- Then, click on the Texas Assessment Result Portal hyperlink. The link will take you directly to your student's results.

Full time and part time Wednesday care available. Registration is from May 1 - July 10. À La Carte programs fill up quickly and are first come first serve.
